The Milan based furniture manufacturer Sturm und Plastic continues to produce commercially successful projects under the influence of their Creative Consultants, the Design Lab. The latest innovation was unveiled at the world-renowned Milan Furniture Fair in 2004. “Double Up” is a cleaver dual-function piece that transforms from a sofa to a bench. Made from interlocking layers of self-skinning Polyurethane foam, the seat explores the unique structural possibilities of the material through its durable, resilient form. It epitomizes the Sturm und Plastic identity in its playful, multi-use function and simple geometric form. “Double Up” received global interest.
